Melbourne ceramic artist Ilona Topolcsanyi has helped us create a bespoke range of porcelain bowls and plates exclusively for Casa Carboni. Ilona has become a specialised maker of bespoke tableware for some of Australia’s most notable chefs & we love that Ilona dedicates some of her time to teaching and philanthropy.

Savoie region, French Alps

In 1890, Joseph Opinel, at the age of 18, designed and developed a small pocket knife for farmers and local villagers, now known as the #08. The Opinel #08 folding knife is considered a design icon throughout the world. Unchanged for over a century, the ‘Victoria and Albert Museum’ recognises it as among the 100 best designs. The list includes the Porsche 911 and the Rolex watch. Our Opinel range includes stainless steel pocket knives in various sizes, garden knives, tools, kitchen knives and table knives. Alexander Mills
Thessaloniki, Northern Greece
The makers of these handcrafted mills are a family-run company who have produced a range of grinding mills since 1977 in Northern Greece. The robust design of the mills was originally based on a portable coffee mill created in the early 1900’s for Greek soldiers to use in the field. Casa Carboni offers a range of salt & pepper mills.

Created by Jean-Baptiste Gouze in 1908, this family-owned cotton fabric producer was one of the first to develop mechanically woven striped Basque fabrics. This company remains family-owned by his great-grandson, Jerome Fanfare, and certified ‘French Origin Guaranteed.’
